Ocado what happens if late

When you place your order on the Ocado website, you will select a time slot for your delivery to arrive. If there are any problems with the scheduled delivery, Ocado should notify you.

This could be through the app, by e-mail, or by text or phone call, depending on your contact settings. When you call the customer services team, they will ask for your e-mail address and postcode. This way they can find your Ocado account and look at your scheduled deliveries. They are available to help from 5. They can tell you where your order is and when you can expect it to arrive now. If it is too late or at an inconvenient time, you might have to rearrange the delivery for the best available slot the next day instead.

You should complain about further problems which occur as a result of late delivery. By failing to provide the goods as promised in the delivery slot you paid for, Ocado is breaching its contract with you.

Maybe you needed the fresh food in time to prepare for a dinner party. Or if you do rearrange the delivery, you might have to take time off work or reschedule a different appointment. Even if the delivery only arrives 10 minutes late, complain about inconvenience if this negatively impacts you.

If you paid for the individual delivery, at the very least Ocado will refund the delivery charge. For those who pay for a Smart Pass, they might get a partial refund. However, it is more likely that Ocado customer services will offer a gift voucher in apology. The voucher can then go towards the payment for your next shop. The amount will depend on the length of the delay, and the level of inconvenience caused. Request this compensation if you think that your late delivery experience entitles you to it.

Ocado will not compensate you if they are delivering late due to circumstances which are outside their control. This includes road accidents, traffic, power cuts, fires, floods and other adverse weather. When you log into your Ocado account on the website, you can view your order details.

If you are able to make any amendments to your order, you can do it there. It will also show you when to expect the delivery, which should be during the time slot you chose and booked. I worked there and found I was working anywhere between 4am-1am and found the shift patterns put you mostly on a late shift without the pay till 6pm found my self missing family life. Pros Work alone. Cons Random shifts no work pattern.

The training itself was really good. Very engaging and thorough. I had high hopes after I finished the training and had a positive outlook. After I started driving I quickly realised that this job was exactly the same as delivering for other supermarkets. If you are lucky, you get a route with a fair number of drops and sufficient time to do the job right. For instance, planned trip to first drop is 30 minutes, but in reality it is 45 minutes without traffic and driving the speed limit all the time!

Too much pressure, which I would even deem unsafe. I had to quit after 2 weeks as I came across the the same issues which caused me to leave my previous supermarket delivery job.

I do have to say that the trainers and managers are lovely and do really try. The impossible schedules and unsafe time pressure are a industry-wide problem. Pros There might be some benefits that are attractive to some, but for me these did not counter the adverse working conditions. Cons Loads of time pressure, no contract flexibility, very high turnover of staff. As other reviews and my heading says, you are just a number. You have no regular shift pattern, could be on early shift Usually between 6. Holidays are very difficult to get and you are made to feel like a nuisance by certain managers when you book one.

Yes, it is generally good to go out and meet people but it is can be very stressful to get from one drop to another on time, and if you even slightly damage a van then god help you. Your colleagues are generally alright but when they are jobsworths, they really are jobsworths.

Yes ok, it is better than being unemployed but if you really feel the need to come and work here as a CSTM Delivery driver , keep your eye out for something else as you will soon be stressed to the nines or they will just get rid of you. Pros Pay not bad, Meet some nice people, Colleagues generally ok. Cons No regular shift pattern, Difficult hours, Some managers are totally unappreciative, Not all customers are nice to you, Stressful.

Official response from Ocado Group 31 October You get an expected arrival time based on a pretty useless navigation system that suggests you can do 60mph down single track lanes,or use roads labelled unsuitable for motor vehicles!! Then they moan cos your late on delivery. Pros Not much. Cons Pressure to deliver. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. We would like to reassure you that we are raising this issue with the wider team.

Rate your recent company Share your experience to help others. Horrible place to work. Managers use bad language toward all staff. Unless you bow down to them. You have to check your van over to make sure it is road worthy.

If you see something wrong with your van and tell the Marshall's they just give you abuse and say there is nothing wrong with it. Everyone gets to know your business. So no confidentiality at all from management. So if anyone wants advise from me about this job then it is to stay well clear. Pros Nothing. Cons Disrespectful management. We would like you to know that we have listened to several areas of feedback on this point and are looking to address issues with management through a new survey technology.

Employees will be able to leave feedback anonymously without fear of comments going straight to the manager. Avoid or make it a quick pit stop. Avoid high driver turn over.. I wonder why. Pros Free parking, paid early finish. We encourage our employees to take regular breaks to reduce the impacts of the job on their physical and mental wellbeing. Working as a CSTM at Ocado did really help me develop my driving skills on long distances and being able to control a big van.

Most of the days you work 6 hours not 8 and you get payd for it. Its not because they want you to work just 6 hours because the lorries do not arrive in time or other operational difficulties.

But do not worry in 6 hours that you work you feel like you worked Sat nav's must be updated because they are taking you too far or at a different adress and you loose time. Managers say do not rush take your time but if you do not rush starting at 4 PM and leaving at 6 you will arrive home at 2 in the morning depends where you live.

Too me at the begining it was good 15 16 drops 35 miles was nice or even miles 13 drops no rush nice again. I have arrived at the depot at 1 in the morning got home at so sometimes it's very exhausting. I am glad I have worked for Ocado I meet new people and It's a good job. I was happy I had a job during the pandemic and so to speak I have put my life in danger by being outside and getting in contact with alot of people. Nontheless I was happy I could keep others safe.

The benefits were allright good health, pension cycle to work scheme and they also recicle their water so good for that. We have received an e-mail also saying that the CEO got 50million pounds because he worked alot during - more Pros Driving, tips sometimes, people sometimes. Cons Flats with no lifts, satnav's, long hours.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review of your experience with Ocado Group. First couple of weeks is good.

Usual low management politics, moody as anything. Organised very well but it is big corp meaning you are just a number. Pros Pay on time. Cons Management, hygiene, amount paid, unsociable. Yes No. We aim to give all our managers excellent training and have regular reviews to make sure we keep a certain level of management throughout the business. Excellent company to work for. Money and management are very good. Your training and support is always to the highest standards. Excellent growth opportunities within the company.
