Where is dsc button

Thread Tools Show Printable Version. Correct me if Im wrong When you push the DSC button to turn of the traction control its suposed to turn on the TriangleCircle!

Today I turned it off while driving, the light came on the dash like normal. About 5 minutes later took a corner quick, not too quick mind you, it started doing the traction control crap on the right side to slow the car down, and the light flashed WTF? Im baffled. I believe: simply pressing the DSC button disable traction control, but maintains stability control.

Pressing and holding the button for several seconds disables both. Might be worth a search or google to confirm this I believe pressing the button turns off traction control, for those days when you need to do a burnout, but stability control is still active. I THINK you can disable all of it by pressing and holding the button for a longer period of time, like secs.

I may be wrong. I thought simply pressing it the triangle comes on will disable the DSC but pressing and holding it also disables the Braking protection. I'm not sure if you've got malfunction or something weird's going.

What do you mean by braking protection. You cannot disable ABS ever. DSC works by employing many different techniques such as applying the brake on any wheel independently of others and by cutting engine power. The first press disable traction control i.

Pressing and holding until the "brake" light is illuminated disable traction control and stability control i. I could be wrong Or, Press the button briefly: you might crash Press and hold the button: you will crash anyone remember that thread, it was moderately epic. Originally Posted by nathancarter. All wheel drive helped yeah but under power the tail would come around and oversteer if I was driving stupidly or if I wanted it to. The person in the picture was an idiot That is my WTF!!! It works by monitoring each wheel speed individually along with yaw rate and longitudinal and lateral acceleration through various sensor.

All of this information collected is fed to the DSC control module and process. The DSC computer constantly calculates an ideal driving condition that is compared with the current status. If the vehicle oversteers or understeers, the calculated ideal deviates from the measured status, and DSC will intervene within a few milliseconds via the engine management system by either applying brakes at different wheels, cutting fuel, and a few other methods that are too detailed for this short presentation.

Dynamic Stability Control is a setting that has the ability to keep your BMW in line within the laws of physics. The DSC system will use the brakes, individually, if needed, to keep a wheel from slipping if power is over coming grip.

Dynamic Stability Control can even decrease the power to the wheel if it detects wheel slip. Add the all-wheel drive system and it gets even more complex.
